TO THE QUESTION OF CRYOPRESERVATION OF SPERM OF THE AMERICAN PADDLEFISH (POLYODON SPATHULA WALBAUM)

There has been studied a possibility of cryopreservation of sperm of the American paddlefish (Polyodon spathula Walbaum) with the aid of the developed dehydratation-vitrification method. Conditions of the bioobject cryopreservation were determined: media, cryopreservatives, and freezing-thawing regimes were selected. Preservation of defrosted gametes at an initial activity of the native spermatozoids of 95% was 60%.
