Procedure for considering complaints and suggestions

The editorial board of the journal "Fisheries Science of Ukraine" carries out its activities in compliance with the current legislation of Ukraine, in particular, provides feedback and responds to appeals in accordance with Article 1 of the Law of Ukraine "On App

A complaint is an official appeal by individuals or legal entities, made with the aim of restoring rights and protecting legitimate interests that have been violated by actions or inactions or decisions.

A proposal is an official appeal from individuals or legal entities, carried out with the aim of improving the quality level of the journal "Fisheries Science of Ukraine".

The editorial office of the journal "Fisheries Science of Ukraine" accepts and considers complaints and suggestions within a period of up to 1 month, provided that the requirements for their submission are met.
The main principles that guide the work of the editorial staff of the journal "Fisheries Science of Ukraine" when considering complaints and suggestions are objectivity, impartiality and confidentiality.

2 applications from legal entities are accepted only on official letterheads of organizations with a seal and signature, from individuals - printed and signed
3 the application must contain information about the applicant - full name and Unified State Register of Legal Entities for legal entities, full name and affiliation for individuals
4 at the beginning of the appeal, it is mandatory to clearly state who is the violator of rights and interests, when the said violation of rights and interests occurred, and what it consisted of in essence and in form at the beginning of the appeal, it is imperative to clearly formulate what exactly the improvement of the activities of the editorial board of the journal "Fisheries Science of Ukraine" will consist of
5 it is necessary to highlight specific ideas regarding the satisfaction (the preferred method for the applicant to restore rights and protect legitimate interests) of the complaint it is necessary to highlight specific ideas on how to achieve the improvement of activities proposed in the appeal

Procedure for consideration

2 the editorial office will notify you of receipt of the application and the appointment of a responsible person within 5 working days
3 after receiving the appeal, responsible persons in the editorial office carry out a preliminary check, which includes fact-checking
4 based on the results of the preliminary review, the application may be either rejected or forwarded to the editorial board for consideration (with anonymity) ‒ each of these decisions is notified to the person who initiated it on the official letterhead of the Institute of Fisheries of the NAAS, certified by the seal and signature of the editor-in-chief
5 based on the review by the editorial board, a decision may be made immediately (by vote) or based on the analysis of the results of the activities of a specially created temporary editorial commission, whose duty is to verify and investigate, which involves written contacts (in electronic form) with all parties concerned, giving them the opportunity to present explanations and evidence
6 additional time is allocated for the work of the editorial committee, which is communicated to all relevant parties
7 the anonymity of the parties involved is maintained until a decision is made by the editorial board

the editorial board's decision may be in the form of an order to make corrections or changes, make clarifications, publish a refutation, withdraw the article (retraction), refuse to publish, temporarily suspend, etc.

9 the decision of the editorial board is coordinated with the Academic Council of the Institute of Fisheries of the NAAS
10 the editorial board reserves the right to verify information about the appeal and the decision on it by posting it on the official website of the publication and sending it to the place of affiliation of the parties concerned and/or relevant ethical or legal bodies and institutions

The person who initiated the appeal retains the right to appeal, which is carried out by providing additional evidence to the journal's official email ( This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ) and involves the involvement of third parties by the editorial board as additional experts. An appeal can be filed within 14 business days of receiving the decision.

Complaints about violations of the principles of academic integrity and standards of publication ethics, as defined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), European Association of Scholarly Editors (EASE), The Law of Ukraine "On Academic Integrity" must contain sufficient evidence and/or specific examples of possible violations (facts of plagiarism, self-plagiarism, falsification, fabrication, copyright infringement, conflict of interest, unethical behavior, etc.).

Complaints and suggestions that do not meet the requirements may be considered for more than 1 month, and in case of an unacceptable form (insulting, threatening, defamatory, etc.), the editorial board reserves the right to refrain from considering them, at the same time notifying the person who made the request, indicating the appropriate reason.
